MTM Scientific, Inc... FREE YAGI Antenna Plans for Television and Radio Astronomy
Build a UHF Antenna for Television, Radio Astronomy, Amateur Radio...
Our free YAGI UHF TV ANTENNA PLANS describe how to build a simple high gain YAGI antenna for reception of a single broadcast television channel ranging between 14 and 70 (470 - 812 MHz). This antenna project provides good performance because you build it exactly for the single TV channel or frequency you want to receive. The antenna plans call for using a ruled wooden mast, brass and aluminum antenna elements and a coaxial cable. As you can imagine, assembly of this antenna project requires measuring, drilling, wire cutting and wire bending. Note that PVC pipe can be substituted for the wooden mast (A wooden meter stick used as the mast makes layout super-simple) to build an outdoor version. The most popular use of this antenna is for radio astronomy projects by building it for channel 37, as described on our Radio Telescope Page. This set of product plans is only available directly from MTM Scientific, Inc! Note that the plan layout dimensions are in centimeters (cm).
Specifications: YAGI Antenna, Frequency Range 470-812 MHz, 11+ Db Gain, 75 Ohm Impedance
Please note that the Antenna Plans use dimensions of centimeters (cm). The elements are made of 1/8" diameter welding rod, available from farm supply stores. Aluminum is used for the directors and reflectors, while brass is used for the active element to make a soldered connection.
